Bamboo rice is short grain white rice infused with pure fresh bamboo juice. This product is all natural. When cooked, it is pale green and tends to be quite moist and viscous, causing the grains to stick together.
Chefs Note: We find this rice to be superb. Similar to Aborio rice (risotto) with a wonderful flavor. We saute onions and garlic, add rice, brown a bit, add chicken stock and a bay leaf, S & P, cover & simmer 20 minutes. This rice is perfect for sushi and as a side dish too. Packed in a resealable plastic jar.
This rice from the Kingdom of Bhutan is revered by all who have tried it. Its flavor is slightly nutty and aromatic, a unique combination. As this rice is a brown rice the normal cooking time would be one hour, however the rice from Bhutan cooks in about 25 minutes. This is a natural attribute to the rice and not do to pre-cooking.

Wild Rice (Zizania Aquatica) is not really a rice; it is a seed from an Aquatic Grass. Wild Rice was important to the survival of many tribes in the upper Midwest. The harsh Winters of Minnesota made hunting and fishing difficult and Wild Rice was often the subsistence food for entire tribes. Wild Rice is very dark brown to black in color. quick cook Wild Rice is partially cooked prior to packaging which allows for a greatly decrease cooking time being needed.
