Vanilla Pound Cake

Ingredients -

12 oz. Butter
3 cups sugar
1 1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
5 large eggs
3 1/2 cups sifted cake flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup milk

Procedure -

Cream butter and sugar until very light and fluffy (at least 15 minutes in a Kitchen Aid or Globe mixer. Scrape the bowl with a rubber spatula and add the vanilla. Add eggs one at a time and blend thoroughly. Mix the flour and baking powder together in a separate bowl and add to mixer alternately with the milk. Bake in a loaf pan or bundt shaped pan about 1 hour in preheated 340 oven (we use our oven thermometer in any oven we bake in to insure accuracy) most ovens are off at least 25 degrees Fahrenheit!
