Vanilla Pound Cake

Ingredients -

8 oz. margarine
4 oz. Butter
3 cups sugar
1 ˝ tsp. pure vanilla extract
5 large eggs
3 ˝ cups sifted cake flour
˝ teaspoon baking powder
1 cup milk

Procedure -

Cream margarine, butter and sugar until very light and fluffy (at least 15 minutes in a kitchen aid mixer). Scrape the bowl with a rubber spatula and add the vanilla. Add eggs one at a time and blend thoroughly. Mix the flour and baking powder in a separate bowl and add to mixer alternately with the milk. Bake in a loaf pan about 1 hour in preheated 340° oven (we use our oven thermometer in any oven we bake in to insure accuracy) most ovens are off at least 25 degree’s Fahrenheit!
